Pepperoni Pizza Dip

I was having some friends over for girls night this past Friday and I wanted to put together a few snacks that I could make quickly after work. My mom suggested Pepperoni Pizza Dip, and when she sent me her recipe I saw that it could easily be lightened up. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I really didn’t even notice a difference in taste between her usual version and mine using lighter ingredients – it was delicious! It also got rave reviews from my friends, so I consider it a big success. I will definitely make this again as a quick and yummy appetizer for company!

*I made ¼ of the dip without pepperoni for my friend who is a vegetarian, so you’ll see in the photo above that part of it looks different – that’s why!

Pepperoni Pizza Dip
Source: Adapted from my mom (Mama Bites?)

Ingredients:
8 oz bar of 1/3 less fat cream cheese
½ c fat free sour cream
1 t oregano
1/8 t garlic powder
½ t crushed red pepper flakes
½ c pizza sauce
½ c chopped turkey pepperoni
½ c reduced fat shredded mozzarella (I used 2%)

Directions:
1.    Preheat the oven to 350.
2.    In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, oregano, garlic powder and red pepper flakes and mix together. Spread mixture evenly into the bottom of a glass pie plate. Top with sauce and pepperoni.
3.    Bake for 10 minutes, remove from oven and top with shredded mozzarella. Bake for 5 minutes more.

Serving Suggestion:
I serve this dip with Baked Tostitos scoops, but you could also serve it with crackers, pita chips, etc.

Yields 6 servings. Weight Watchers Points Plus: 4 per serving

  1. This looks yummy! It reminds me of a dip I've eaten that has the cream cheese mixture on bottom and shredded chicken breast with hot wings sauce on top. I need to be on the look out for turkey pepperoni!
