Voting Closed: Best of 2012 Reader’s Choice Awards!

Almost two years ago (on Christmas Eve) I started this blog to chronicle my quest to prove that recipes could be both healthy and delicious. I can’t believe how far it has come in just two years and I can’t express how blessed I feel that so many of you check in, read my blog, comment, share and pin my recipes, write me emails and cook alongside me. You all motivate and inspire me so much with your comments and stories and your feedback means more to me than you know. I truly appreciate each and every one of you. THANK YOU for following Emily Bites!

Since I am horrible at narrowing down and choosing favorites, last year I started the tradition of asking YOU, my amazing readers, to decide the best of the best. I love knowing what you all think. Here’s your chance to let your voice be heard!

Here’s how the voting will work: There are 10 categories. To vote, leave a comment below with the numbers 1-10 and next to each number fill in the letter corresponding to your choice for the winner for that category. I realize almost no one will have made a recipe from every single category, so feel free to vote for whichever recipe looks best to you, or if you’d rather leave some categories blank that works too. Here’s what a sample vote should look like (I chose the letters arbitrarily):

Thanks for voting, Nancy!! I noticed you didn’t vote for the Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese Muffins in their category so I added a tally for those because I figured you missed them! 🙂

    • Anonymous replied: — December 22nd, 2012 @ 4:50 pm

Thank you. I swear it just said buffalo chicken and thought it was another recipe (Must have totally missed the mac and cheese part)! Thanks for the “help”. I will ask Santa for a new pair of reading glasses 🙂 I have made a list of ingredients for the French Dip cupcakes since there were good comments on them. After the holiday back to real food cooking for me. No more “frozen blocks” aka Smart ones/Lean Cuisines.

I’m sorry I can’t chime in more — many of these are on my To Do pile. I make a lot of your recipes and have been insistent my friends try them, but I guess they’re from other years. I think your cupcake entrees are ingenious, and everything I have made from this site turned out exactly as I hoped. How often can you say that?!? At my WW meetings, your website is constantly being recommended. Keep it up!

I usually only make main meals — haven’t really tried breakfast, appetizer or dessert — perhaps this year. I will say that I create a monthly menu and Emily Bites dominates our weekly meals. For example, December has 15+ recipes on it (keeping in mind that there is a “eat out day” and “left over day” every week. Plus, Christmas! I am never ever disappointed and neither is my picky meat & potatoes husband!

Now what I need to do is read over all the other comments, because clearly I need to try a bunch of your other recipes. I will say that all of your recipes become family favorites – they are easy, flavorful and kid-friendly (I have 3, age 5 and under). Do you take ideas/requests for future recipes? I have a couple of thoughts that I think you could do wonders with your magical culinary touch. Thanks for all of your hard work!!

I hope I’m not too late! I love this website, and I came to it right after last years vote!

    3. A – Cheesecake stuffed strawberries (only one I made. Mine didn’t turn out but it was my mess – not the recipe).
    4. D – Chicken Tortilla Soup
    7. C – Taco wrap Delux
    8. B – Bacon cheeseburger wrap – this is my favorite thing on the website so far!
    9. A – Shredded buffalo chicken

These are all the recipes I’ve tried of these choices, but I plan to make more. My goal is 1 recipe a week each for the new year! 🙂
