Banana Chocolate Almond Smoothie

Banana Chocolate Almond Smoothie

I had an idea that I wanted to make a smoothie that tasted like a banana crossed with an Almond Joy. This Banana Chocolate Almond Smoothie doesn’t taste exactly like that, but it did turn out delicious and it has all the same flavors. The banana and toasted coconut yogurt give it a bit of a tropical feel and the cocoa powder and almond milk make it taste a little like dessert. This smoothie would make an awesome breakfast or snack, and it’s a great way to get in some fruit and dairy all at once! Banana Chocolate Almond Smoothie

This Banana Chocolate Almond Smoothie makes for a great breakfast, snack or dessert!

Ingredients

  • 1 medium ripe banana, make sure it’s ripe, if you use a green-skinned banana it will lose a lot of flavor
  • 5.3 oz coconut flavored Greek yogurt, I used Dannon Light & Fit Greek Toasted Coconut Vanilla
  • ½ cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup ice, I just threw in 5-6 cubes

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and well combined. Recipe yields about 2 cups.

  1. I think you meant to say almond milk, not coconut milk 🙂

  2. Yum! It’ like almond joy in a smoothie…love that!

  3. My husband recently made Lifetime (yes, I’m very proud!) and he found that he plateaued when he didn’t count the fruit in a smoothie, and dropped weight when he did count it. Regardless of its preparation, he always counts the points in a banana.

    • Congrats to your husband, that’s fantastic! Different things work for different people. I know a lot of people who count it and a lot who don’t and people from each group have had great success. You just have to figure out what works for you and your body! Tell your husband I said congrats on his success! 🙂

  4. I’ve been very bad at weight watchers lately. I’ve lost my motivation. Recipes like this inspire me to try to get with it again!

  5. Sounds yummy. I’ll have to try it when my banana ripens up. Coconut yogurt is on the shopping list.

  6. I made a chocolate protein powder, banana, almond milk shake. Can’t find it. Can you help me ?
