Best of 2012 Reader’s Choice Award Winners

Thank you so much to everyone who voted in my 2nd Annual Reader’s Choice Awards! I’m so blessed to have you all as readers and whether you’ve been cooking with me since the beginning or you just discovered my blog today, I really appreciate you.

I can’t believe I’ve been blogging for two years. It has flown by! Last year I recapped some readership, social media and posting stats, mostly for me to look back on. While I certainly don’t blog for the numbers, it’s fun to look back and see how much my blog has grown over the past year. Here we go again:

Two years. 217 posts. 197 recipes. 6,000,000+ blog page views (according to my Blogger stats). 11,801 Facebook fans. 9,148 Pinterest followers. 1,174 Twitter followers.

It’s been an amazing two years. It overwhelms me that so many of you out there read my blog, make the recipes I post here and give me such great feedback, encouragement and inspiration. THANK YOU!

I am so excited and thankful that many of you took the time to cast votes for your favorite recipes. It was so fun for me to see what all your favorites were this year! The results are below and for each category I’ve pictured the winner and then listed the runner up along with my own vote (which didn’t count in the standings, I’m just listing it for fun).

Also, since a lot of you mentioned that you wished you could choose 2011 recipes, these are the results of last year’s Reader’s Choice Awards.

  1. We love your stuff here at our house! Even my picky eaters love it! Thanks so much for creating and sharing so that others can use your ideas!

  2. We love all your recipes at our home. Made a few for our holiday gathering and my son now wants a slow cooker and asked for your link. Thank you for working so hard to keep us healthy and full. Happt new year!

  3. I just made your butternut squash soap yesterday . It,s amazing thank you for all your hard work 😉

  4. Thanks for an inspiring year. I look forward to more amazing recipes in 2013 and another 50 lb weight loss for me. You inspired my cooking & eating habits to improve. The cheesy potluck potatoes are my favorite recipe & taste as good if not better than the full fat version. No one notices the changes and less fat and none is ever left. Happy New Year!

    • Wow, 50 pounds!! That’s so awesome – you can do it again! I’m so glad to hear that the cheesy potluck potatoes are such a big hit. Happy New Year to you as well! I hope we can both reach all of our goals for the year 🙂

  5. Do you, or do you know of anyone that makes a gluten free version of the W.W. recipies?

  6. Wow — none of these are the recipes I voted for! I guess that means I have a load of new recipes to try!!!

I’m a (Lifetime!) member of Weight Watchers, and I couldn’t begin to count how many times your recipes are recommended in our meetings. Your reach is much farther than can possibly be reflected in your subscriber numbers. Thanks so much for all the work you do on these recipes. It’s definitely appreciated.

    • Haha, I voted for a lot of losing recipes as well (not that i counted my own votes) :P. I’m thrilled to hear you all are talking me up at the meetings – THANK YOU! When I used to be a meetings member (I’m using WW online now) no one there knew I had a blog and I didn’t want to bring it help because it felt self-serving or attention-grabbing or something, lol. Thanks for your nice comment!

  7. Thank you so much for all your hard work and wonderful recipes. I am a huge fan of yours and your delicious recipes. Whenever I take something to a pot luck it’s usually the first thing to go and people always ask for the recipe. I always say I don’t give out my recipes but you can to to emilybites.com and you can find it there and a lot more good stuff. I even get thanks for referring them to you after they see your site. Keep us the good work and blessings to you in 2013.
