But, whether you are looking for a lighter treat to make for the object of your affection or you just want a delicious sweet and salty snack that comes together in minutes, these Chocolate Drizzled Pretzels are for you! Just lay out the pretzels, melt the chocolate in the microwave, drizzle with a spoon, sprinkle with a few festive sprinkles and wait a few minutes until dry. It’s that easy!

This is also a great snack to bring to a girls’ night in, a movie night or a viewing party for any sporting event.  No one will guess you only spent 5 minutes making it!

Chocolate Drizzled Pretzels

Yield: 50 pretzels; 10 (5 pretzel) servings

Ingredients:

  • 50 (or 5 oz) thin full-size (not mini) fat free pretzels (I used Snyders of Hanover)
  • 3.5 oz chocolate melting wafers (I used Ghiradelli Dark Melting Wafers)
  • 1 tablespoon festive sprinkles

Directions:

  1. Lay the pretzels out in a single layer, close together on top of a sheet of parchment paper.
  2. Place chocolate wafers in a microwave safe cup, bowl or ramekin and microwave them on half power for 30 seconds (or according to package directions if different). Check progress and continue to heat in 15 second intervals until heated and smooth when stirred. Be careful not to overcook.
  3. Using a spoon, drizzle the melted chocolate over the pretzels using a back and forth wrist flick motion. Sprinkle the sprinkles over the chocolate quickly before it sets. Allow the pretzels to sit out for 5-10 minutes until chocolate hardens. Lift pretzels carefully off the parchment paper, chocolate should often come up with them. Break pretzels apart if necessary.

I love chocolate pretzels. I like the idea of drizzling…I am more inclined to go heavy handed on the chocolate and dip! LOL! But a drizzle gives you the taste without so much of the points/ calories. Great idea. 🙂
